Our aim to provide a happy, safe and a secure environment where your child will be encouraged to develop at his/her own pace.
Hi, my name is Vicki Halton and I am the Nursery Manager. I have worked at General Day Nursery since March 2009. I started my childcare training in 1997 and qualified with my NNEB in 1999. I have worked as a nursery manager since 2003 and decided in 2007 that I wanted to improve my knowledge of early years and so I went back to University to study for my foundation degree, I graduated in 2010 and went on to my final year in order to achieve my BA Honours in learning, development and support and I graduated with this in 2011.
I am also the designated Safeguarding, inclusion and behaviour management officer. I am extremely passionate about early years and being able to contribute towards giving all of the children the very best start in life I possibly can.
We have operated in St Helens since 1996, offering a warm and friendly environment to all families in the area and those from further afield who are looking for good quality, affordable childcare. All staff are full time and are qualified and experienced in childcare.
Working in partnership with parents, we aim to develop your child's social, physical and creative skills through play and periods or more structured learning. Whereas no child will be pushed, they will be encouraged to ask questions and explore their environment.
During school holidays, we have a Holiday Club for school age children. It is well equipped with a variety of toys and games which are suited to the ages of the children using the facility.
"Parents are very complementary about the setting, particularly about the staff and the ‘fantastic support’ they give to the children." OFSTED REPORT 28TH November 2011. Full report can be found on the OFSTED website .
